The book teaser for Abrams’s The Wes Anderson Collection that was viewed by over 150,000 fans on YouTube in just a matter of weeks. One viewer’s comment said it all: “I actually enjoyed this more than any of Wes’s films.” Thanks. And ouch. The video created such demand that Barnes & Noble, the exclusive retailer, sold out in days and Abrams, the 65 year old publishing house, broke a new sales record of 10,000 books sold directly from itself.
The Abrams published, J.W. Rinzler book, features never-before-seen storyboards. The first-of-its-kind book trailer garnered over 250,000 views on the Star Wars site and YouTube within a week. Over 15,000 books were bought directly from the publisher, Abrams, within two weeks of the video’s release.
